Boomer Esiason is a former American football quarterback who played in the NFL from 1984 to 1997. He was born on April 17, 1961, in West Islip, New York, and played college football at the University of Maryland. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft and played for the team from 1984 to 1992. He also played for the New York Jets (1993-1995) and the Arizona Cardinals (1996-1997). Esiason is best known for his time with the Bengals, where he was a two-time Pro Bowler and led the team to Super Bowl XXIII. He is also known for his philanthropic work and is the co-founder of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which raises awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis research. After retiring from football, Esiason became a successful television commentator and remains involved in the NFL community.
