Dan Marino is a former American football quarterback who played in the NFL from 1983 to 1999. He was born on September 15, 1961, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and played college football at the University of Pittsburgh. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins with the 27th overall pick in the 1983 NFL Draft and played for the team from 1983 to 1999. Marino is best known for his time with the Dolphins, where he set several NFL records, including the most touchdown passes in a season, and was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1984. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler and is widely considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. After retiring from football, Marino became a successful television commentator.
