Joe Kapp is a former American football quarterback who played in the NFL from 1959 to 1970. He was born on March 19, 1938, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and played college football at the University of California, Berkeley. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1959 and also played for the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. He is most famous for his time with the Minnesota Vikings from 1967 to 1969, where he led the team to their first ever Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl IV. Kapp was known for his aggressive style of play and his ability to rally his teams. After retiring from football, Kapp became a successful businessman and continued to be involved in the NFL community.
